ACD Ganderbal reviews progress of Works under Mission Amrit Sarovar and Construction of Compost/Soakage pits under MGNREGA, briefs officers/officials for successful implementation of Har Ghar Tiranga Programm.

GANDERBAL, JULY 21: Assistant Commissioner Development Ganderbal, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat (JKAS), on Thursday, chaired a meeting of RDD Officers/officials of the district, here in Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat Ganderbal in order to review the progress of works under Mission Amrit Sarovar and Construction of Compost/Soakage pits under MGNREGA. Besides, ACD briefed the officers/officials regarding the strategy to be followed for successful implementation of “Har Ghar Tiranga Programme”.

Threadbare discussion regarding the progress achieved under Mission Amrit Sarovar was held and officers committed that the target w.r.t. the mission shall be achieved well before the timeline of 15th August 2022. It was informed that out of identified 70 sites for development of Amrit Sarovars, more than 20 Amrit Sarovars will be completed by 10-08-2022. Meanwhile the officer stressed upon completion of the set targets regarding construction of Compost/soakage pits under MGNREGA in a saturation mode in the district on war-footing basis well before the timeline of 15th August 2022.

Regarding the “Har ghar Tiranga Programme”, ACD impressed upon all the Block Development Officers that as they have been designated as Member Secretaries of the Block level Committees for the programme, they shall take a lead in organising various activities as a run-up to the programme right from today. He emphasized upon better coordination among all the members of Block /Halqa level Committees for launching a well-organised IEC Campaign on one hand & accomplishing various steps of the programme including collection of flag amount, distribution of National flags and hoisting of the National flags by every household of the district on the other. The officer advised the officers to proactively involve PRIs, Youthclub members, civil society members & senior citizens in the campaign.

Among others the meeting was attended by Executive Engineer REW Ganderbal, BDOs of the district, AEE/Assistant engineers, JEs and Programme Officers of MGNREGA.
