At one stage, Pakistan were 66/3 after 19 overs but rain interrupted the game completely thus the innings was reduced to 40 overs and Pakistan were bundled out for 165 inside 39.4 overs. India were given a target of 168 runs to chase it inside 40 overs. Once again, rain interrupted the game and the target was reduced to 102 runs in 22 overs. 2. Asia Cup 2014
Pakistan defeated India in a nail biting thriller by just 1 wicket in the end with the help of Shahid Afridi’s heroics in the climax. India almost lost a must win game against Pakistan which costed them a birth in finals of the Asia Cup. Before Afridi’s heroics, Mohammad Hafeez played a crucial hand with both bat and ball which helped them to seal this edge of the seat thrilling game against India.

Just after few weeks of a close nail biting loss in Asia Cup 2014, India played their first match of T20 WC 2014 against Pakistan. India invited Pakistan to bat first and they managed to post a total of just 130/7 in 20 overs. India won the game convincingly by 7 wickets with the help of Kohli-Raina’s 4th wicket partnership.

India defeated Pakistan for 6th time in a row in ODI World Cup with the help of Virat Kohli’s stunning hundred. India decided to bat first and posted a good total of 300/7 despite a five-wicket haul from Sohail Khan. In reply, Pakistan couldn’t cross the line despite a very good innings from Misbah-ul-Haq.

Much similar to T20 WC 2014 game, India edged out Pakistan in a low scoring run-chase with the help of Kohli’s brilliant 49 run knock. India invited Pakistan to bat first and bundled them out for just 83 runs. India were in deep trouble after losing 3 quick wickets for 8 runs but Kohli-Yuvraj partnership helped them to beat Pakistan by 5 wickets in the end.

6 . T20 World Cup 2016

3 weeks after Asia Cup 2016, India and Pakistan faced each other in T20 WC 2016 and once again India came out on top in a low scoring run-chase with the help of Virat Kohli’s brilliant knock of unbeaten 55 runs from 37 balls. India invited Pakistan to bat first and restricted them to a total of 118/5 in 18 overs. India in run-chase once again landed in trouble by losing 3 quick wickets for just 23 runs but Kohli’s innings helped India to beat Pakistan by 6 wickets in the end.

7. Champions Trophy 2017 (Group Stage)

Pakistan invited India to bat first and they had posted a solid total of 319/3 on board with the help of big opening partnership from Dhawan-Rohit pair, and Virat Kohli also smashed quickfire 81, while Yuvraj Singh and Hardik Pandya gave a brilliant finish with the bat as well. Pakistan were given a target of 324 runs in 48 overs and once again when Pakistan were 22/0 in 4.5 overs rain interrupted the match and innings got reduced to 41 overs with a new target of 289 runs but unfortunately they got bundled out for just 164 runs.

India were considered as favorites to win the title but Pakistan defeated India by 180 runs in CT 2017 finals and did major upset. Team India crumbled under pressure to chase a huge total in finals and got bundled out for just 158 runs.

11. World Cup 2019

India defeated Pakistan for 7th consecutive time in men’s ODI World Cup. Pakistan invited India to bat first and they posted a big total of 336/5 with the help of Rohit’s scintillating ton. Among Pakistan batters in the run-chase other than Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam no other batsman looked much threatening and thus they lost the game by a big margin of 89 runs in D/L method.

Pakistan defeated India for the first time in six meetings in T20 World Cup event. Pakistan humiliated India in this game by defeating them without losing a single wicket and also crushed India’s hope of entering semi-final in their first game itself. Pakistan invited India to bat first and India’s top order batters like Rohit, KL Rahul were totally deceived by Shaheen Afridi.

Once again, it was Virat Kohli who salvaged some pride for India by smashing 57 off 49 balls which helped them to post a total of 151/7 in 20 overs. Pakistan’s opening pair chased the total down with 13 balls to spare.
