J&K Finance Department Urges People To Update Their Aadhaar For DBT Schemes, Check Details
Ministry of Law and Justice Issues Statement on Updating AADHAR Numbers in PFMS for DBT Schemes Beneficiaries in Jammu and Kashmir
The Finance Department of Jammu and Kashmir has received a communication from the Ministry of Law and Justice, in collaboration with the Legislative Department, Budget & Account Section, and Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, regarding the mandatory update of AADHAR numbers for beneficiaries of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes in the region.
As per the statement, while registering beneficiaries for DBT schemes, some departments have failed to provide the mandatory AADHAR numbers while putting the request for account validation in the Public Financial Management System (PFMS).
To rectify the situation, the Ministry has impressed upon all Programme Divisions of all departments in Jammu and Kashmir to update the AADHAR numbers of the beneficiaries in PFMS. This can be done either by submitting an account validation update request with the beneficiary’s AADHAR number for external systems integrated with PFMS or by using the edit facility available for schemes using the PFMS portal.
In case the AADHAR numbers of some beneficiaries are missing, the departments are instructed to collect and update the same in PFMS in the aforementioned manner. It is further emphasized that both the beneficiary and the account should be AADHAR-based, and editing facilities should be incorporated as per guidelines. Ineligible persons must be confirmed and weeded out on the DBT portal.
This statement by the Ministry of Law and Justice highlights the importance of having accurate and up-to-date information for beneficiaries of DBT schemes in Jammu and Kashmir. The timely update of AADHAR numbers will ensure the smooth functioning of the Public Financial Management System and the effective implementation of Direct Benefit Transfer schemes in the region.
